Project Overview

Capri Global Capital Ltd. undertook a CSR project from 2019-2022 partnering with Women's Integrated and Synergistic Empowerment (WISE) in the Ujjain and Maheshwar regions in Madhya Pradesh.

In early 2023, Social Footprint Pvt. Ltd. was tasked with assessing the impact of Capri Global’s programs by using surveys and interviews. I collaborated with Social Footprint in designing the assessment report, which introduced the assessment, explained the methodology used, presented findings and shared some stories from the ground.

Contributions

I was responsible for putting the report together. My key objectives were:

  • Setting a visual style in tune with Social Footprint’s brand guidelines, and following it consistently throughout the report.
  • Presenting the findings of the assessment in an easily understandable and aesthetic manner.
  • Visualising data suitably, and ensuring context was not lost at any point.
Design Process

At the beginning of my involvement with this project, the content had already been prepared, and the material was provided in a simple word document.

  • I developed and documented type styles, building a clear hierarchy.
  • I took Social Footprint’s primary blue and green and created more tints and shades of the same, since a wider spectrum is useful in data visualisation.
  • I started by plotting the document’s content roughly onto pages, to give visual form to the structure.
  • I then started creating neat layouts using the proper type styles and hierarchy. I used 2 & 3 column layouts primarily.
  • I adapted the data into bars and pies, and placed it on the spreads.
  • I curated images from a library of original photographs by the survey team.
  • Finally, I spent some time ironing out inconsistencies, performed iterations, and brought the project to closure.
